Here are a Few of the Traits of cults and cult leaders.

Cults are groups or organizations of men and women that claim that the
things that they teach and do, are for the betterment of the individuals,
the groups, the nation or the world.

Many cults have started with "good" intentions, but with human nature and
Satan at the bottom of them; they usually deteriorate very quickly.

For instance many religionists did start out with high ideals, until the
money started rolling in.

Also many charitable organizations have started out with pure intentions,
but over the years, they have become "big business", of course every
year, they will gain publicty feeding winos on thanksgiving and xmas,
mainly in order to get people's sympathy; to gain large donations.

Yes, many charities do help people, but they help themselves first, and
some of them have turned into cults, even animal help orgs have done
this.

Unions have also started out with good intentions, until the underworld
has gotten hold of their purse strings, then the Unions swing to the
other end.

Cults also have to have a scape goat, or a problem group to hate, such as
Stalin had (The Rich), the Unions (The employers), Hitler (The Jews),
Catholics (The Protestants), Protestants (The Catholics), The White
Supremists(The Blacks), etc, "Ad-Nauseum'.

Cults need a cause, "We love God","We love you', "We will help you',"we
will make the World a better place',"We will cure all evils', "we will
right all wrongs'

Sometimes entire countries have been turned into cults... Russia,
Germany, Iraq, Italy and etc.

Also, cults become very protective of their member's (Money) welfare.


"A few of the traits of the cultleaders"
Most cult leaders are people that have inferiority complexes, some of
them, but not all of them being of short stature.

The fellow, that had his followers poison themselves and go meet a
spaceship in The Comet, in their expensive smeakers was 6'-8" tall

Many of them have come from low backgrounds; with very unloving Fathers,
three dictators that I can recall, were beaten unmercifully by their
fathers... Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Saddam Hussein.

They didnt receive mercy, so they never learned mercy.

Many cult leaders are very intelligent and have a gift for speaking,
unfortunately, most of them do not have a great proclivity for telling
the truth, except when it is to their benefit.

Most cult leaders learn very early, that they are very convincing to
people (Mainly gullible people), so therefore these "leaders" think that
they have found their calling.

The people that they prey on, are usually the old, the weak, the lonely,
the gullible and the mentally unstable, but another group that they prey
upon, is those that have money.

Most of the others in their group are certainly expected to give of their
money, but they are looked upon by the leaders as "stupid"; whereas
those, who can give a lot of money to the "cause", are looked upon as
"Our good friends", and they are welcomed right into the "inner circle".

Unfortunately, many of these cult like "leaders" usually make politics or
religion their "forte".

Jimmy Jones was one of these that did, Jimmy might have even started out
with right intentions, but they didnt last very long, and he started
following the classic actions of a cult leader.

Same way with Jimmy Baker and David Koresh

He started out acting like he was full of love for his "converts", he was
in many cases genuinely "helpful", then he got their confidence, to where
he had them under his spell, where they would do anything he wanted them
to.

His next step, was to isolate them in a lesser degree, and to keep them
away from anybody that would threaten his"rulership" over them, or the
money supply

Money is always a big thing wih cult leaders, and they make the people
feel ashamed and guilty; if they dont give more and more.

Many Cult Leaders have a "Messianic Complex", and now that they have
followers, they really start believing that they are God's "prophet or
messenger", then they start deluding themselves.

If anyone or anybody affronts them in any way, then they get paranoid,
and they set up an enforcing arm, usually other deluded people; most of
them inherently violent; to police their great "kingdom"

One of the last things these " false messiahs" do, is completely isolate
their followers, and set up spy networks, and if there is any hint that
their converts are trying to "desert", then they get them and even
threaten them with "Hellfire", ex-communication ( hell) or even bodily
harm.

When the cult followers are completely isolated, then they are nominally,
or literally held prisoner.

Jmmy Jones finally completely isolated his followers, by taking them to a
very inaccessable area (Guinea).

The Unproved "Petra" doctrine was a way WCG could hold people nominally
captive, by threatening, that they would not get to go there, if they got
out of line.

This doctrine will probably be used against the brethren again, by some
of the COG leaders; at least to get the people's money.
This happens very often in churches, it has even happened in some of the
Churches of God.

RCG didnt start out wrong, but in the end under WCG; it had turned into a
cult, you had certain people thinking that they were above reproach, or
that their words were equal to canonized scripture.

As far as HWA goes, he had a basic correct outline on the general scope
of prophecy, but he mis-interpreted many of them, and added time frames
and scare tactics; in order to get more money out of the brethren.

Many cult leaders try to equate spiritual acumen with monetary donations.


There was all kinds of duplicty, there were sexual scandals; money
scandals; varience; power struggles; harangues; false prophecies; spy
networks and every other kind of problem.

Its no wonder God allowed it to be destroyed.

Through out all of this, there were faihful brethren, who were striving
to obey God, and these faithful are still around, striving to obey God
today.

Right now, some of these cult leaders have gotten hold on some of God's
people, Gerald Flurry is one of them; he follows most of the classic
traits of having a messianic complex.

He has his Scapegoat (The Laodiceans), and he is into the isolating the
members from everybody else.

David Hulme and Ron Weinland are several of the others, who are trying to
isolate their members (tithe paying dupes) from the other commandment
keeping brethren; and they do this for control, mainly of the tithes;
this though is completely opposite to Christ's outgoing service to all.


This is very dangerous for the poor brethren.

We need to beware of any of the Leaders who have most of the traits, I've
mentioned; they are not of God.

God's way is a fearless, outgoing love for all, but the cults are fearful
and full of fear; and they just have a worldly type of groupy love.

Nevertheless, God will have His people on the Earth at His coming;
prayerfully we can hope they can escape some of the Orgs, that have been
taken over by cult leaders.

Siloam Springs Siloam Springs police report two men tried to buy woman's soul Posted: July 15, 2008 01:01 PM MST Updated: July 16, 2008 08:56 AM MST From the Siloam Springs Police Department:  TITLE:   A GROUP CALLED "WE WANT YOUR SOUL"  SILOAM SPRINGS, AR -  14 JULY 2008            On 11 July 2008, an email began circulating the Siloam Springs and Benton County area of Northwest Arkansas concerning a group self titled "We Want Your Soul".  The body of the original email related an incident which occurred on 10 July 2008 in the parking lot of Spring Valley apartments and concerned a woman who was approached by two well dressed men who began asking questions concerning her religion, her financial status and ultimately asking her to "sell her soul".    Police responded to the area of the incident that evening and were unable to locate the two men or their vehicle.                   The two men were described as white males in their late 50's or early 60's, well dressed wearing business suits with a briefcase.  The gentlemen reportedly had tattoos on their right hand in the shape of a triangle with a circle and 5 pointed star in the center of the circle as seen above.    The vehicle was described as late model champagne colored Lexus, unknown registration.             Since the initial incident and police response, there have been no additional reports from citizens, concerning this group within the Siloam Springs area.             Siloam Springs Police have received several phone calls from citizens concerning the email, and variations of rumors surrounding the original email and incident.   To date, the incident on 10 July 2008 has been the only incident reported to police concerning this group.             Preliminary information concerning the intent of the group "We Want Your Soul" is limited at this time.              While the group name obviously "shocks the sensibilities" the criminal intent remains undetermined.              Citizens are asked to contact the Siloam Springs Police Department immediately at (479) 524-4118 if you are contacted by someone from this group.
